The district covers 62 square miles and includes parts of North Peoria, Edwards, Edelstein and Princeville.

The school district is probably the biggest reason that people want to live in the Dunlap area. There is one high school, two middle schools and five elementary schools.
Dunlap High School, Dunlap Middle School, Dunlap Valley Middle School and Dunlap Grade School are in the town of Dunlap. Banner Elementary and Hickory Grove have Dunlap addresses but are not located in the town of Dunlap. Ridgeview Elementary and Wilder-Waite Elementary both have Peoria addresses.
